DCS World summer sale has started !

After the great news about the free to play period launched by Eagle Dynamics with the 2.7 Stable release, this is another good news: the sales have started and will last until July 12th !

Remember that it is better to buy your Mods, Campaign, etc. directly through the Eagle Dynamics site rather than going through Steam. Indeed, via Eagle Dynamics you can accumulate miles and benefit from big discounts on the modules of your choice.

    Modules with a 30% discount :

    • DCS: F-16C Viper
    • DCS: F/A-18C Hornet
    • DCS: A-10C II Tank Killer
    • DCS: P-47D Thunderbolt
    • DCS: Channel Map
    • DCS: Supercarrier
    • DCS: Syria

    Modules with a 20% discount :

    • DCS: JF-17 Thunder

    Modules with a 15% discount :

    • DCS: F-14A/B Tomcat

There are also a few campaigns that benefit from the sales, including "P-51D The Blue Nosed Bastards of Bodney Campaign" which I can highly recommend as well as the Mirage 2000 "Red Flag" campaign.

The Hind was released in early access

After a long wait, the MIL-MI24 Hind has just been released in early access for the modest cost of 55 Dollars. Through this alpha release we already have access to:

  • Professional flight dynamics and engine modelling with high precision characteristics of the real aircraft in all ranges of altitude, temperature and speeds for different weights and flight configurations
  • Two 6DOF highly detailed cockpits (RU and EN versions available)
  • Fully clickable cockpits with interactive control of all onboard systems with mouse
  • Multi-crew. Second crew member can be another player or "Petrovich" AI (basic AI level during early access phase)
  • Detailed modeling of the entire electrical, fuel, hydraulic, anti-icing, fire protection, SAS, autopilot and radio systems
  • Full modeling of armament and weapons systems with ability to use 30mm cannon, unguided rockets (S-8, S-13, S-24B) and bombs from both cockpits in addition to the guided ATGM 9M114 operated by forward seated pilot-operator
  • Standard Russian new and weathered liveries in addition to Iraqi and Syrian schemes
  • Early Access manual Russian and English versions
  • Training missions

The first feedback from users is great and reports a very stable helicopter at high speed and dangerous to handle at low altitude.

DCS 2.7 Stable Released

DCS World has finally moved to version 2.7 on the stable branch after a compulsory passage of several weeks on the Open Beta branch. This is the biggest update the simulator has seen. It brings an impressive set of new features, the most convincing of which is undoubtedly the inclusion of volumetric clouds entirely in 3D, like a Microsoft Flight Simulator. The update also includes many improvements on the F18, F16 and many other planes, and brings many new features to the mission editor etc. You can view the full changelog at this URL.

And as usual, this major update comes with a wonderful trailer.
